Direct Network Attached CD & DVD Servers Direct Network Attached CD & DVD Servers have become the standard method of distributing CDs over networks by network managers and administrators looking for a quick, cost-effective method of getting rapidly changing, or library data on-line. CD Servers offer the added advantage of bringing easily understood and commonly used technology to the network environment. The range incorporates Direct Network Attached systems that require no host and simply plug into your existing network, SCSI Autochanger CD Towers that rely on a conventional SCSI connection to a host server, to full CD & DVD Jukeboxes with capacities of up to 500 CDs in a single unit. The NetBox series of CD Servers offer Direct Network Attached Storage (DNAS) CD storage combined in a simple small unit. AXIS StorPoint Technology: The High Performance Multiprotocol CD-ROM Server for All Networks The AXIS StorPoint CD series of CD-ROM servers allows you to effortlessly share CD-ROMs over all networks regardless of system or speed. These products are true "plug 'n play" solutions that turn CD-ROM drives, towers and jukeboxes into network resources. Place it where needed and connect mutliple CD-ROM drives & discs to each unit. They are completely file server independent and include native and simultaneous support for NetWare, Microsoft (3.x, 9x, NT, ME, 2000), OS/2, UNIX and Web clients. All ranges of CD Server Towers incorporate Axis CD/T units within the tower chassis.   NetBox The LaCie CD & DVD NetBox series represents the latest generation of Direct Network Attached Storage devices: CDs or DVDs are transferred from a drive to a hard disk. The disc contents are then immediately available for instant access to all connected users. The LaCie NetBox is a independent network appliance, i.e. the NetBox communicates directly with the client, minimising network traffic. As the NetBox is directly plugged into an Ethernet network, performance and availability of the files do not depend on the server specifications. These towers offer large CD storage solutions for solo or workgroup sharing, and offer Ethernet network connections or SCSI connections for directly linked to a host computer via a standard SCSI interface. Network CD Servers allow a group of network users to access frequently used CD or DVD discs simultaneously. All the discs are stored together in a secure environment in the Network Tower and are instantly accessible by all users. Because Network CD Servers incorporate the latest improvements of Network Attached Storage (NAS) technology, there is no need to change discs or to search for them in the office: information is available everywhere on the network without any time loss.
